01 carbs for an 02 summit??

wondering if there would be any issues as far as dpm or mpem goes with putting a set of '01 carbs on a '02 summit...or if there would be any other issues...thanks

Need to watch weather or not they have hooded needle jets or not, the 01's didn't, and I'm pretty sure the 02's didn't, but could be wrong. This will effect your jetting, but shouldn't effect the mpem or the dpm systems.

Agree, my 02 800 didnt have hooded needle jets. CPI makes a hooded needle jet kit for these carbs, good update if you cant find 03 or newer carbs. Dino

Get hooded needle jets if your doing anything at all with engine/intake/exhaust mods...

It'll make life A LOT easier in the long run...trust me, learned this one the hard way with my '02 700/734

Really? What do yo get out of a tank boondocking? Sled in sig, non-hooded, and slightly fat 500 mains, .030 needle shim. I don't know, no speedo, I do better than a RKT 734 motor in an 04' though!

So, do you have to call them to order them or can I just not find them on there website? I wouldn't mind doing the upgrade, although, really, my non-hooded carbs haven't given me any trouble, but then again, I'm kinda fat all over to be safe, lower riding at 3500'.
