thanks, its hard to believe but i have around 6 to 8 hours a set between cutting out all the chro moly and tiging them up. the welding is probably the slowest part.

Yep and people freaked when they saw the price of Airframe Running Boards from Skinz. A lot of labor involved.

well here is some pictures of them installed. let me know what you guys think. im not positive on price, but im thinking somewhere around 350 for raw and 400 powdercoated. i was planning on 300 raw or 350 coated but i am coming to find i have a lot more into materials than i thought between the raw materials, gas for the welder, and my time.

yeah, they do. if you need to make gearing changes or something of that nature, they mount with rivets, and you would just have to take the front few rivets out. chromoly flexes a little bit. i have not tried a set of skinz boards, but i think it would be weird under your feet how they just stop before the chain case. these are 3/4 inch tall and i think it would be a weird transition so thats why i went all the way up.

What about the rear skid mounts. It looks like you took away the stock 90 degree support and they do not tie into the running boards. A hard hit and they could buckle or am I missing something?

no, i use it as a mounting spot for my running boards, i cut the back part off because it will collect snow, you could leave them there if you wanted. here is a picture of what it looks like underneath right there.

Just a word of advice, take it or leave it........it would look alot better if you cleaned up that cut edge of aluminum. ALSO and more importantly, you sacraficed a great deal of strength on that rear drop bracket. I would look at doing something different in the back.

I don't really care about the aluminum edge. You don't see it when the sled is sitting. As far as strenght im curious what you are refering to. I guarentee you just 2 rivets on my running boards are way more structure than the stock pop can boards. Have you ever felt the xp boards in your hand before? They offer next to no structure for the drop bracket. My chromoly is offering much more. Personally im not worried about it. As I said before, I only cut the one side off because I wanted to. Nobody else has to.

(1) more

If you put (1) more cross-bar where you cut the rear support brace... I would consider buying a set from you! The way I ride (Turbo charged) and outta control... there would be some breakage.
