Chest layering question

Just wondering what you guys for layers if you a avy vest or like a klim aspect. I have a non insulated suit lvl 1 base and klim inferno hoodie. Seem like it make be a bit warm in the chest in those in between temps and dropping a layer may be too cool especially on the arms. Just thought i would se what you guys all do in this situation since i was looking at new airbag and vest are intriguing

Klim Ripsa Monosuit
Klim Inferno Jacket
Klim Level 3 Base.

As it starts to warm up.
#1. Open the vents on the mono suit.
Cuffs, then Arm Pits, Then Thigh Vents and finally Leg Zips.
#2. Remove the Inferno Jacket and Close all Vents.
#3. Open all the vents
#4. Ditch the mono suit, your riding in June and its time for a SUNTAN! :ROFLMAO:

For me:
Klim Aspect 16 (Atlas 14 Vest intrigues me but not for the price and nothing wrong with my Aspect 16)
Fly Cobalt Uninsulated Monosuit
509 R-Mor vest
Moisture wicking t-shirt
Thinner Under Armour Base Layer Top & Bottom
Gym Shorts
509 R-Mor knee pads

I generally run very hot, and the airbag chest plate on top of the R-Mor vest definitely heats my chest area up. If I ever get cool, it's generally in my arms, and wearing a long sleeve t-shirt in place of the moisture wicking t-shirt, or on top of the moisture wicking t-shirt is enough.

Usually have my monosuit vents open with armpits first, thighs second, and sleeves last.

Ok i could definitely look at at look getting another long sleeve or t shirt instead of a mid zip up hoodie like my klim inferno. Only thing is my goodness those klim aspect 16 are expensive. There is also the highmark ones no idea how they are. They dont seem as common as there packs and idk what its is the bca on looks bulky. Yes i run very hot as well. You think the leatt dual axis hinged guards i have would wreck pants or will they be ok?

Under Armor Cold Gear base layer, uninsulated monosuit or coat, Highmark vest. No other layers needed, but I don't ride below 0 degrees. I'm 145 lbs so not much natural insulation. I don't know how you guys wear so many layers.

We have been doing just day trips and only ever intend to ride above -15c but if you book trips in advance sometimes you got deal with the cards your dealt

uninsulated monosuit
Klim or 509 base layer most times their midweight or lite weight but sometimes heavy weight if its really cold.
Shorts
Chest protector with a long sleeve thin and loose jersey over that. Occasionally i will ditch it in my pack.
I keep a midlayer puffy jacket in my pack in but It is an incase kinda thing, I don’t wear it. I leave the truck kinda cool and then am fine once I get moving and sometimes get cool when stop for lunch.
I think a chest protector add quite a bit of warmth since it creates an airspace that cant really compress even if its super breathable the air gets trapped and cant go anywhere.
I have a klim avypack with the small protector. Not sure it adds much if any warmth.

What do you wear for a chest protector idk if i will ever use one or not one day

Currently tekvest, cant remember the name but its the one they designed for back country. Bit longer and not much protection in back since I always have a backpack. Id recommend getting something, thankfully I have never took something to the chest hard enough that a protector saved me but I def have taken smaller hits that woulda had me sore.

One thing I learned about working outside is if your core is warm hands feet and limbs are fine. If you sweat you have issues and get cold and hard to come back from that. Moisture management is key. If I started off being toasty when getting sleds fueled, oiled, packed before even hit the trail Id be sweating my balls off once we actually started being active and my feet and everything else would end up being colder. Maybe if I had a super long higher speed trail in and out I would wear my midlayer coat for that but our trails in and out generally aren’t like that.

Ok if you go to tekvests website and go to the snow backcountry tab you could probably find it.

Putting me to work. Rude :ROFLMAO:

More comfortable and better suited and better coverage over my guts than the alpinestars I was using before. The tekvest is made for standup with a backpack compared to what I was using
