2022 Pro Matryx Slash 165 khaos hybrid? A little confused Khaos vs. Pro Matryx... looking for input

Picked up a 2022 Pro Matryx 165 slash, NOT a Khaos. Has the non-Khaos velocity shocks with the single compression clicker adjustment on all 4 shocks.
So... checked the rails, color matched purple to the rest of sled; sticker on rails says "ASM-SUSP Khaos 163 LW 0118030-1917". Rails have the factory anti-stab setup.
It is definitely a Series 8 165 2.75 track.
Track adjuster still has plenty of room on it so no problem there.

So that is the part that confuses me.
On top of it all my buddy picked up a 23 Khaos 165 with super low miles, and I thought the Khaos front suspension mount went into the bottom hole; his is in the top hole, as is mine.

I would LIKE to make mine a full Khaos geometry (without spending a bunch more money) but I have no idea if my rails have the right curve to avoid issues, Or what to change at this point...

I think there is a part number stamped somewhere on the rail itself but I haven't had a chance to look for it.

Going to explore the parts online for the suspensions but looking for input.

My understanding is that all RMK sleds going forward will have Khaos rails. Not exactly sure how that profile compares to the axys Khaos rail.
Difference now is the longer shock and limit strap length As well as the more adjustable shock on the Khaos.

Add a khaos adapter to the shock and a longer limit strap.

I had a 22 boost pro rmk 165 last yr. Fts measured the same length as the khaos fts so I added the khaos limiter strap. The difference it made was so minimal you would never notice unless you rode it before/after. I adjusted the front and rear shocks which seemed to make a difference but I never got the results I wanted before the season ended and I sold the sled. My 23 boost khaos 155” is a riot, sometime it’s a bit much in certain situations.

Drop to the lower hole and install a Khaos limiter strap,
shouldn't have any issues with shock or rails.

I do believe that is new for 2024, and his 2022 should still have different rails thank a khaos (without looking at the sticker in the pic). The new combo rails for both pro and khaos are somewhere between the old pro and khaos profile, likely closer to pro with a turned up tip

Thank you for the clarification

Since it is the 165/2.75 with extroverts with the factory antistab, maybe these are the same as the Khaos? Under the Pro parts they do show different part numbers for 165/2.75 and 163/3.0 but as we know the 163/3.0 is really a 162 and those differences may just be a length thing. Going go look at the 22 Khaos (matryx and axys) rails and see what the part numbers are... (left rails for reference)
Matryx Pro 165/2.75 1544908
Matryx Pro 163 1544413

Matryx Khaos 165/2.75 1544904
Matryx Khaos 163 1544408

Axys Pro 165/2.75 1544727
Axys Pro 163 1544413

Axys Khaos 165/2.75 1544722
Axys Khaos 163 1544408

So it APPEARS that ALL the 165/2.75 sleds have different part numbers, but the 163 track sleds share part numbers between Matryx and Axys... unless I typo'd something... doubled checked them, should be right.

Thats a lot of part numbers to get confused with. Hope I never need to figure out what used rail will fit my sled some day. Guess if something happens I would just go with Ice Age rails...

I’m planning on converting my 2 matryx pros to khaos rear end.

Picked up a set of Khaos shocks to install on my 23 165. Going to put the velocity shocks off my 165 onto the 22 155 after getting the fts lengthened by pulling the spacer. Khaos length limiter straps.

Not quite sure which hole you’re talking about. Looked at my tunnel and didn’t see anything. Currently out of town working so can’t go take a look.

It has to be drilled through the tunnel, but there is a hole in the reinforcement brackets much like there was on the Pro and Axys, used for some of the trail sleds I believe...

what sledhed said. i did this to my 22 pro last year. its more playful but not like a Kaos, kinda best of both worlds

Just a reminder, dropping to the lower hole will get it more playful. In return you will increase your attack angle which causes trenching and doesn’t let you get up on the snow as easy. You will need a 185# RTS spring if you are going full Khaos over PRO.

So got the Pro Velocity Front shock redone. It had the 1/4” spacer installed. Now it’s Khaos length.

Getting ready to put my skids back in. As far as limiter straps go. I managed to get one factory Polaris Khaos length one, all the local shop had. Need to order at least one more for the other sled.

Do I need 2 per sled? Khaos Matryx sleds have 2 limiter each. While the Pro RMK have one. Looking at the new Khaos one vs the old pro one I removed, they both look the same except length and hole position. Same thickness and width.

Is there a reason Polaris has 2 on the Khaos sleds, is it required or just in case one fails?

No idea why they have 2 stock. I have one on my khaos converted pro, but I'm using the ice age strap. Don't think it should matter though

23 Khaos had two straps. 25 Khaos has one strap.

I think one is probably fine unless you are really rampaging.

So I got out for my first ride. Did not feel like a night and day difference. Khaos shocks and Khaos OEM limiter strap on Pro Rails on a 165. I also notice the limiter strap is pretty tight with the sled sitting on the ground.

I’m thinking with the upturned Khaos rails the limiter strap acts longer and lets the front track shock out more. So I either need a longer limiter strap or Khaos rails to get the effect.

Talking with ice age. The rails are only 3% of what makes a khaos act the way it does. I did everything but the rails and i noticed a difference, but I also added aftermarket shocks which gave me more adjustments Tighten up your front track shock and loosen the rear shock.
Also make sure your front track shock is a khaos shock

I would listen to Tony (TRS) above. You're probably not getting full Khaos effect because you didn't change your RTS spring and it's too stiff to get the transfer you're looking for.
