Featuring fully redesigned legends like the Keweenaw and Klimate, the Idaho company is enhancing the way snowmobilers experience the trails.
KLIM has four new sets off insulated gear – the redesigned Keweenaw, Klimate and Kaos sets, and the new women’s Spark Jacket and Pant. While these pieces have unique differences, all KLIM trail gear shares key safety and comfort features.
The risk of falling through ice on a frozen lake is very real for trail riders, so each bottom hem on the jackets, bibs and pants is made of open mesh. This allows water to quickly drain from the garment as you pull yourself out of the water, to keep from weighing you down.
KLIM uses GORE-TEX laminates, the best available option, combined with various durable exterior face fabrics as the front line against winter elements. Inside the gear, 3M™ Thinsulate™ synthetic insulation traps body heat to retain warmth, but allows moisture from sweat to escape and help keep you warm and dry. It’s highly resistant to water absorption, meaning that unlike down, it retains insulating properties when wet.
3M™ Scotchlite™ Reflective Material is also used on all pieces and is laid out in a pattern designed to help other riders identify you as a human shape. This is significant for night riding and other low-visibility conditions where you need the best possible chance at being seen.
The redesigned Keweenaw Jacket and Bib is KLIM’s most premium trail set, with a removable insulating liner, the greatest amount of storage, the most ventilation, the best warmth-for-weight synthetic insulation and most durable fabrics. The Keweenaw is engineered to keep you riding as long as possible, through changing weather conditions, as the warmest, most versatile trail gear that KLIM offers.
The redesigned Klimate and Kaos gear sets offer a balance of warmth, durability and ventilation with a focus on lighter weight and mobility. The Klimate Jacket and Bib are warmer and more durable than the Kaos, but not quite to the level of the Keweenaw. Meanwhile, the Kaos Jacket and Pant offer the lightest weight and greatest mobility, with slightly less durability and warmth than the Klimate or Keweenaw.
New from KLIM for 2019/2020 is the Spark Jacket and Pant, designed specifically for women.
KLIM listened to female riders and used their feedback to develop their first purpose-built women’s trail set with all the key safety features found in the other trail gear.
