In the pursuit of winter safety, KLIM is releasing two all-new floatation bibs to add to their line of float jackets for trail riding. The new Rift men’s bibs and Flare women’s bibs both deliver float assistance for any snowmobile rider facing the risk of falling into partially frozen water. These waterproof GORE-TEX bibs are designed to work perfectly with KLIM’s Ascent Float System (AFS) equipped Flare and Rift jackets, cementing KLIM’s position at the forefront of snow powersports innovation.
Ascent Float System (AFS) is the key feature in the new Rift and Flare bibs, delivering full floatation capabilities when used with KLIM float jackets like the Rift or Flare (a float jacket is necessary to keep your legs from floating above your head so you stay upright in the water). AFS is single-layer, perforated, closed-cell foam that’s channeled and oriented throughout the bib to allow for mobility, breathability and overall comfort. It won’t absorb moisture and won’t trap sweat, either. The soft, flexible material also adds significant warmth in addition to the 3M™ Thinsulate™ Insulation, giving the Rift and Flare 260g of total body insulation.
None of KLIM’s insulated snowmobile gear sinks quickly – a common misconception for thick winter clothing – and these new float bibs help riders stay even higher in the water and for longer periods of time than traditional insulated gear. This significant floatation effect makes it easier to escape the cold water, and if cold incapacitation sets in, the float gear will help keep you higher in the water where rescuers can reach you more easily.
Mesh bib cuffs at the bottom hem allow for rapid water draining to aid in exiting the water, reducing the water weight held in your bibs as you try to exit the water.
Traditional KLIM trail snowmobile gear features such as 3M™ Scotchlite™ Reflective Material, pockets, side leg vents and various adjustment features round out these bibs as no-compromises outerwear for dedicated riders.
