Tip 6 - See Clearly

Goggle maintenance is really all about the lens. Treat the lens with extreme care making sure to not scratch the surface. If wiping is necessary in the field, use as little force as is needed to get the job done. Anti-fog coatings are the most susceptible to scratches, which is located on the inside surface of the lens. The wiping cloth can grab dirt/dust particles and drag them along the surface. To prevent this, remove the debris first by rinsing the goggles in a sink. Finish cleaning them with a cloth specifically designed for optics and a streak-free lens cleaner. Clean the face foam with a little soap and rinse clean. Press the foam into a dry towel and remove as much moisture as possible then allow them to air dry overnight.

Store your goggles in a case or a bag so they don’t get scratched by other objects. It’s easy to get lazy with goggle maintenance, so the more vigilant you can be with these tips, the longer your goggles will be scratch-free.
