Polaris Vs. Ski-Doo Vs. Arctic Cat

Published in the March 2018 Issue April 2018 Snow Tests, Feature, Arctic Cat, Column, Polaris, Ski-Doo Steve Janes

Situation 7

You ride a lot of narrow canyons with creeks in the bottom.

• When you’re riding the creek bottoms where you have sections of fluffy snow, willows and open creeks, the Polaris excels. It is easy to stay up on the snow and has those quick bursts that allow it to jump creeks with a simple crack of the throttle.

Cat with a 3-inch track is easy if you like to pick your front end up quickly and set it where you want to go. The track will dig a little more than Polaris in search of traction, but it will give you great thrust.

Ski-Doo allows you to travel through these areas at a little slower speed and maintain your line.
