Suspension

The 2017 Arctic Cat Mountain Cat already comes with one of the nicest stock suspension packages in the industry, Fox Float EVOL’s all the way around. When set up properly these shocks can be soft enough for easy tree riding and powder riding, and stiff enough when you need them to be, for example, when blasting through rough trails or hitting jumps. While the stock shocks were impressive, we wanted more. We hit up our friends at FOX Shocks and asked their recommendation for the suspension setup. Trying to keep the weight numbers low, they suggested their FOX Float 3 EVOL Factory Series up front and for the front track shock, and a Float Evol QS3 for the rear track shock. All these shocks feature FOX’s unique Kashima Coating which offers better lubrication and less abrasion and wear. The difference in these shocks over the OEM equipment was night and day. Coming into huge moguls on the trail that we knew would bottom out the stock shocks, these after market FOX ones would just soak it up. The QS3 quick adjuster on the rear made for simple adjustments for a plush trail ride or a stiff jumping shock. Although both suspension packages are considered Float Evol’s, the aftermarket fox ones are night and day difference over the OEM Fox equipment.
