Ski-Doo Freeride 154 For Jumps, Bumps

Published in the December 2017 Issue August 2018 Feature Steve Janes

Finally, we wouldn’t want to overlook the best snowmobile innovation for 2018—SHOT.

The Freeride comes with the SHOT push-button engine starter. No, this isn’t electric start. It’s better than that. There is no battery, no starting motor, no added 20 lbs. What you have is an Ultra Capacitor (not to be confused with the flux capacitor that powers a DeLorean for you Back To The Future fanatics) that can send a charge to the magneto, turning it into an electric motor that spins the crankshaft, thus starting your snowmobile.

The Ultra Capacitor is charged every time the sled starts. So the first start of the day is by the pull rope. After that, you have enough power to restart your snowmobile throughout the day.

The Ski-Doo Freeride 154 is a multi-dimensional snowmobile with state-of-the art technology. Whether you in three feet of powder or pounding over three-foot moguls, it will deliver a ride as good or better than any sled in the industry.
