More Weight Savings
With the focus on the drive train, Cat took advantage of re-designing the chaincase with lightweight magnesium. The company also shaved 1.5 lbs. with a new lightweight mountain brake system that includes new disk, caliper and pads. Other weight savings were found in the fuel tank design, along with many of the changes previously mentioned.
Then Cat opted to go with the Team Rapid Response II Drive and the Team Rapid Reaction Boss Driven clutches. The drive clutch features an auto-adjusting belt tension design that delivers consistent performance without manual adjustments. The clutches perform quicker, smoother and backshift better.
This allows Cat to get the most performance possible from the M 6000’s C-Tec2 engine with DSI. This is technology from Team Arctic’s race department that has been track-proven since 2012. The 599cc two-stroke engine is quick revving and processes about 125 hp.
