Getting out on the sleds and spending a day in the great outdoors is what winter’s all about.
There are those who endure the season, just waiting for it stop snowing so they can venture back out into the warmth after the months of harsh cold.
Not us. We eagerly look at weather forecasts trying to find out when the next storm is coming through with fresh powder. And we need more of it.
Our ride last week took us on a loop that began and ended at the Bone parking lot in Eastern Idaho and consisted of some of the beautiful mountain scenery Idaho has to offer. We rode both on the trail and cross-country, covering just over 60 miles.
While there was plenty of snow to keep us happy and it was plenty deep in places, there was a definite lack of fresh powder and there were a few spots where the cover was thin.
Although the conditions weren’t what we’d call perfect, we still had a blast.
