Willmar, Minn. - With the smooth surface of Pine Lake in the past, the racers returned to the roots of cross country racing. Devils Lake, ND, provided the ditches and snow for an extremely challenging course, coupled with well below zero temps.
More than 150 entrants started the race Saturday morning. Arctic Cat Pro driver Wes Selby put on quite a show Sunday coming from almost a four minute deficit to chase down and pass the best Polaris ditch racer in the country, Aaron Christiansen, from Alberta, Canada. Last week’s winner, Cory Davidson, on a Ski-Doo, came in a respectable fifth.
The Semi-Pro final went to Taylor Bunke, the son of veteran Polaris champ Gabe Bunke.
