Plymouth, Minn. – Team Arctic’s terrain racers stayed red-hot on what was a bitter-cold weekend of cross-country and oval racing in the Midwest.
On a rugged course of ditch and river at the USXC cross-country in Grafton, ND, Team Green proved the handling and performance of the ZR 6000R XC and ZR 4000RR machines by winning 13 of 20 classes and capturing 36 of 60 podium positions.
Defending USXC Pro Champ Zach Herfindahl of the Christian Brothers Racing (CBR) team returned to the top of both Pro 600 and Pro Open for the first time this season with a powerful display of speed and savvy. He was joined on the podium with last week’s winner Wes Selby, along with Brian Dick, Ross Erdman, Cody Kallock and Chad Lian in the top 10.
The CBR team was blazing at Grafton, with Ryan Trout winning Semi-Pro Improved and nearly taking the win in Semi-Pro 600, as well as Hunter Houle winning Expert 85. Nine other Team Green racers notched wins at Grafton, including Savannah Landrus, Matt Feil, Brandon Wolter, Thomas Junglen, David Brown, Garet Grzadzielewski, Lydia Sobeck, Blaise Potucek and Paul Sillerud. Team Arctic swept the podium in seven classes at Grafton as an exclamation point on the weekend.
At the Eagle River Derby in Wisconsin, CBR teammates Logan Christian and David Joanis delivered a memorable performance in the Pro Open snocross by going 1-2 to capture a World Championship title and build momentum for the rest of the season.
“The team proved its depth at Grafton by winning so many classes and podium positions,” said Mike Kloety, Team Arctic Race Manager. “With Zach and Wes each claiming a Pro 600 final in USXC so far this season, we look good for the upcoming premier Thief River Falls 300 and I-500 events that highlight the sport. We’re also proud of Logan and David for dominating the World Championship Snocross final, which is a great title for the team and an excellent confidence builder.”
