X Games Aspen 2016 will mark 20 years of winter events, celebrating the progression of the winter version of X Games from its debut in Big Bear, CA, into a full action sports and youth lifestyle festival as the event takes over Buttermilk Mountain in Aspen Snowmass, CO, Jan. 28-31, 2016. The 2016 event will again feature action sports competitions, world-class musical performances and a festival village.
For the first time at X Games, all medalists from X Games Aspen 2015 who have sport disciplines returning in 2016 will receive an early invite to compete in the X Games Aspen 2016 event. The first full round of invited athletes will be announced Nov. 16. For a complete list of invited athletes visit www.xgames.com.
“We are thrilled to be celebrating 20 years of X Games winter events this coming January at Buttermilk Mountain in Aspen Snowmass,” said Tim Reed, ESPN X Games vice president. “Aspen is a special place to bring together the world’s best action sports athletes and top musical acts for fans to enjoy the special atmosphere that embodies the culture and lifestyle synonymous with the X Games.”
