Minneapolis - The high-flying, bar-banging fastest sport on snow—Amsoil Championship Snocross, powered by Ram—was a big hit with people watching CBS Sports earlier this month as ratings indicated a record number of viewers tuned in to watch the thrilling racing action from the series' opening round at Spirit Mountain's Amsoil Duluth (Minn.) Snocross National.
Scoring an unbelievable 1.2 rating (which translates to nearly two million viewers), the Amsoil Duluth Snocross National was the most-watched Pro snocross event of all-time.
"We couldn't be happier for the sport and the snowmobile industry," said Carl Schubitzke, ISOC President and Race Director. "And not only did CBS Sports' Amsoil Duluth Snocross National deliver the most impressions for our sponsors in the history of Pro snocross racing, according to the numbers it also introduced legions of new fans to the sport."
Schubitzke added that the Amsoil Championship Snocross online broadcast numbers for the following round, the United States Air Force Fargo (ND) Snocross National, increased and he expects the Pirtek Canterbury Snocross National online broadcast numbers to increase as well, a direct result of the amazing 1.2 rating on CBS Sports' broadcast of the Duluth event.
Amsoil Championship Snocross, powered by Ram, continues after the holiday break at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, MN, Jan. 9-10, for the Pirtek Snocross National, presented by Jimmy John's.
Beginning with Amsoil Championship Snocross' season-opening round in Duluth, MN, and running through the season finale in Lake Geneva, WI, CBS Sports Network will air 17 one-hour programs of the ACS races.
