What happens when you cross Cat's M-series and Firecat lines? Well, Cat says the result is the new 2006 Crossfire, a sled set up for performance trail handling with deep snow capabilities.
The new 2006 Crossfire, Cat's midyear release that's available in black or orange for order now (MSRP $8,999) and slated to start coming off the line Jan. 17, features a 140 horsepower Suzuki 700 EFI powerplant with a more rider-forward design to help riders transition from sitting to standing positions.
The sled also features an ACT Diamond Drive System that replaces the chaincase with a planetary gear drive situated on the PTO side of the chassis. Other features include removable side panels that allow quick access to the engine, clutch and brake and a FasTrack Long Travel System slide-rail suspension with Arctic Cat (IFP) shocks and a Torque Sensing Link rear arm.
The Crossfire also features a deeper lugged 15- x 136- x 1.25-inch Ripsaw patterned track.
