how to install vforce delta carbon fiber reeds december 1998

Installing the Moto Tassinari V-Force Reeds is a straight-forward replacement procedure, with the exception of cutting the old guides from the rubber intakes. These instructions are for a Ski-Doo 700 triple, but other models should be comparable.
Here's what we did:
1. Remove the belt guide and pre-filter foam from top of the airboxes.
2. Remove the two airboxes. There is a front and bottom mounting bolt that holds the left airbox for cylinders one and two. Lift it out.
3. Cylinder three airbox has only one bolt at the bottom. Lift that airbox out.
4. Now you can see the bank of three carbs. Loosen the intake manifold clamps and remove carb number one. Repeat for the remaining carbs.
5. Squeeze the wire clamps holding the balance tube located above the intakes and slide each one down. Then remove the balance tube by pulling upward.
6. Disconnect the three coil wiring connectors. Remove the upper four bolts of each intake to remove the coil mounting brackets and remove.
7. Now only two bolts hold the rubber intakes in place. With these removed the intake easily falls out.
Now you are ready for the V-Force reeds.
8. Emptying out the box, here is what you will find: Top row is the reeds with cages, next row are the important stickies, installation bolts and gaskets, the bottom row is the cutting template for the factory rubber intake. With the stock reeds, the difference in the reed and cage construction is readily apparent.
9. These air flow guides must be trimmed back per the directions.
10. The included steel cutting plate is installed. The installation instructions say to use a hacksaw to cut the ears off. This is a little crude. I would prefer to use an X-acto knife because it is more preciseand leaves a smoother edge. Remember to round over the interior edges. Clean the intake thoroughly of all the rubber pieces before installing.
Now reassembly can begin.
11. The V-Force reeds are inserted into the cylinder port.
12. The modified intake boots are slipped in and bolted up with the included hardware. Use a 4mm Allen wrench to tighten. Don't forget the ignition coil brackets on each manifold!
13. The carbs can now be inserted into the manifolds, aligned and the pinch bolts tightened down.
Follow these tips from our technician, Steve, from H.M. Leonhardt&Sons, Alexandria Bay, NY.
14. The three intake ports for the balance tube should be lubed with silicone spray and if the ambient temperature is cool, heat the vertical tubes with a heat gun to ease the entry of the balance tube ports into theintakes.
15. The ignition coil rubber connectors should be zip-tied together as shown, to prevent the high frequency vibration (common to a triple) from working the connector apart. Also the wires of these connectors should be zip-tied to the balance tube to prevent chaffing.
16. Before reinstallation of the airboxes, check the throttle cables and oil injection lines for twists or kinks. Recommendations for jetting are to stay with the factory settings initially and test for yourconditions.
This installation was conducted in the middle of summer, but I was lucky enough to find someone who installed the V-Force reeds last winter on a'97 Polaris Ultra SP.
He said, "My '97 Ultra SP had a good range of power but I wanted that little bit extra. My choice was the V-Force reeds. They are awesome. They gave better gas mileage and a lot more mid-range power. Just what I was looking for!" Stuart Greenhill, Gouverneur, NY.
