1999 polaris xlt special

We'd have to say one of the key reasons snowmobilers- and there are alot of you- prefer Polaris is because for many years the company gave you what you wanted better than anyone else. While we whined about the direction Polaris was headed, Polaris did give us a ray of hope. The "aggressive" chassis models seemed almost ugly and not up to the challenge of even the anemically powered Storm. We found a sweetheart of a sled made up of the Storm-like chassis and one of Polaris' all time great hits, the XLT.

By placing the high port, 597cc version of the XLT monoblock triple inthe Storm chassis, Polaris created a sled that reverted to all that was once right in Roseau, home of the Polaris cognoscenti. The new XLT Special took away the heavy, multi-cylinder "power" triple with its triplepipes and used a mono-block triple with a three-into-one tuner in its place.Polaris reduced excess weight over the skis and immediately improved handling and steering. The aggressive chassis' personality became lovable for sportsriders.

The XLT Special for 1999 is one of the best sleds in the Polaris lineup. The engine is not going to out pull a 600 XC or challenge it in the reallybad moguls, but as competition to the Vmax 600 or Formula 583, the XLT will more than hold its own.

You'll find the best characteristics of the XCR in this model. The XTRA-10 comes with the Controlled Roll Center front end and upwards of 9.5 inchesof travel. An hydraulic disc brake and extra-bright headlights are bothsafety-oriented features. The windshield on this sled is functionally stylish. At around six grand, you'll get a darn nice sled that brings the best ofPolaris thinking together.
