Payette Avalanche Center Fundraiser, Class Schedule

News

The Payette Avalanche Center, located in McCall, ID, is once again providing on-the-snow training, which is coming right up. An annual fundraiser for the avalanche center is also planned for early February.

We've received word that the Payette Avalanche Center isn't having much luck with snowmobiler attendance at its avalanche education sessions thus far this year. We hope with this announcement that sledders will make a better effort to attend.

Here are the details of upcoming events at the Payette Avalanche Center

Jan. 18 - Sleducation: Avalanche safety for snowmobiles field session at 9:30 a.m., at the Upper Elevation Parking lot. A $10 suggested donation to the Friends of the Payette Avalanche Center is being requested.

March 1 - Sleducation: 9:30 a.m. Upper Elevation Parking lot. A $10 suggested donation to the Friends of the Payette Avalanche Center is again being requested.

*All class participants should have a modern avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe as well as a mountain sled for snowmobile classes and appropriate backcountry gear for the ski/snowboard classes.

*PAC classes are introductory level classes with AAA member instructors from the Payette Avalanche Center and the Friends of the Payette Avalanche Center.

As for the annual fundraiser, it will be held Saturday, Feb. 8 from 6:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m. at the Salmon River Brewery in McCall, ID. There will be a silent auction and a raffle with lots of prizes from Boondockers, 509, True North and more.
