Early each fall for the past ten years, hundreds of
motorcyclists and thousands of spectators flock to Payette, ID,
for the Big Nasty Hillclimb. The event has grown in that decade to become Idaho's largest
motorcycle event, with 748 entries and over 13,000 spectators attending last
year.
The 2013 Big Nasty, which will run Sept. 13-15, will include
for the first time the first round of the Idaho Snowmobile Grass Drag Race
Series. Thanks to the event's venue, the 1,000-acre Pence Ranch, adding the
grass drags was a simple yet exciting addition to the Big Nasty. A 1,000-foot
runway will be built next to the ATV/UTV/dirt bike demo courses, creating a
spectator area that will fit thousands.
"Our goal is nothing short of making the Big Nasty Grass
Drag into on of the biggest grass drags in the West, if not the country," said Big
Nasty event director Ron Dillon. To help promote the great sport of
snowmobiling, Big Nasty organizers have donated a free booth to the Idaho State
Snowmobile Association.
The Big Nasty Hillclimb is held every year two weekends
after Labor Day, Friday through Sunday. Learn more or register at www.bignastyhillclimb.com or
