The highlight of the Can-Am roadster line-up is the all-new
sport-touring roadster. After the Can-Am Spyder RS roadster in 2008 and the
Spyder RT model in 2010, BRP is introducing its third model to the lineup: the
Can-Am Spyder ST roadster: a sport touring vehicle with the right blend of
comfort and sportiness to set it apart from the others. With its sport-touring
rider ergonomics, added footboards for more legroom, the same muscular Rotax
991 V-Twin engine and all BRP-renown safety features such as VSS, the Spyder ST
roadster is as comfortable and nimble for a quick jaunt around town, as it is
on a spirited ride on a favorite country lane or a week-long getaway up the
coast.
Innovations to the 2013 Can-Am roadster line-up also include
the Brembo brake system specifically designed for Can-Am roadsters, a new
suspension for better handling and performance and new front fenders with
integrated LEDs for refined style and improved aerodynamics.
Dealers and distributors also had a chance to try last
week's star of the Sand Sports Super Show in San Diego,
CA, where BRP unveiled its first
sport side-by-side vehicle, the Can-Am Maverick. The new-from-the-ground-up Can-Am Maverick
1000R side-by-side vehicle is built to offer industry-leading 101 hp performance,
precision-engineered handling and a driver focused design unlike any sport
side-by-side vehicle to date.
Powered by a Rotax 1000R V-Twin powerpack that is unrivalled
in the side-by-side vehicle market, the new Can-Am Maverick model offers the
most powerful engine within the industry and leads its class in torque, acceleration
and power-to-weight ratio. The Maverick side-by-side vehicle's muscular set-up
is complemented by a unique, sport- tuned front-and-rear suspension, a rigid
frame with a centralized mid-engine layout, advanced ergonomics and a stunning
design that make it stand out in a crowd.
"The Can-Am Maverick side-by-side vehicle is sure to
please the most dedicated hardcore offroad sport enthusiasts with its unmatched
and aggressive styling industry-leading performance, both of which
unquestionably reflect the Can-Am brand," Chris Dawson, vice-president and
general manager, International division, said.
Other features of the Maverick sport side-by-side vehicle
include: high-flow dynamics, Intelligent Throttle Control (iTC), dual exhaust,
continuously variable transmission (CVT) with Zylon reinforced drive belt, a
steel frame engineered in way that it offers supreme traction, athletic agility
and confidence-inspiring handling while at the same time offering improved
rigidity versus the competition.
A revolutionary and compact Torsional Trailing A-arms (TTA)
independent rear suspension improves traction while also reducing unsprung
weight and eliminating bump steer for extremely predictable handling. A
strategically designed exterior gives the Maverick side-by-side vehicle its own
look, while the innovative and purpose-built performance package rewards owners
with unmatched comfort, convenience and safety.
The Maverick side-by-side vehicle is made for recreational
enjoyment, but also caters to true adventurists with its multi-function rear rack
with LinQ system compatibility.
BRP also introduced its 2014 Can-Am Maverick MAX 4-seat
model, available worldwide next summer.
Continuing with surprises, BRP also introduced an all-new
Can-Am Outlander 650 X mr ATV, its newest hero for mud-riding enthusiasts. The
650 X mr ATV is every bit as tough and polished as the big-bore 1000 X mr
model, but its ability to seamlessly cross over from the mud to the trails adds
to its versatility and makes it a whole new breed in the industry.
In addition to the
Can-Am vehicles talked about here, we've also recently highlighted ride reviews
