The Jackson Hole Snow Devils have announced some big changes for this year's World Championship Snowmobile Hillclimb. This year's hillclimb promises to be the best yet. With an all new course layout, vendor locations and spectator viewing, the event will be bigger and better than ever.
The hillclimb is scheduled for March 24-27 in Jackson Hole, WY.
The Snow Devils have been hard at work on many different ideas and feel that the new layout will be sure to please all involved.
The first major change is the course layout. In the past, the racers have started up on Snow King Mountain. This year, however, the racers will be starting at the very base of Snow King Mountain. This will give the spectators an opportunity to see up close and personal the racers and their impressive equipment. The course is going to have more obstacles integrated as well to truly separate the men from the boys.
Being that this is the world championship hillclimb, the Snow Devils feel this new course design will create a new found direction in the sport of hillclimbing that hopefully the racers enjoy.
Second, the idea with the new course layout was mainly for safety purposes and better spectator viewing. However, another main reason is for the vendors. The new layout will allow for more vendors and more premium spacing. Instead of having vendors inside the ball field, they will now be situated on the outer perimeter of the ball field and along the streets as before. The race trailer parking will now be substituted for vendors. This will create a better flow for the event and allow vendors to showcase their products on a larger level.
Last, is the spectator viewing. The Snow Devils will have more seating areas for spectators, allowing for better viewing of the Jumbo Tron video and more areas to see competitors race up Snow King Mountain. The food and beverage tents will be situated in a way so that the spectators are not standing on slippery slopes but on level asphalt.
