Arctic Cat (NASDAQ: ACAT) recently announced that it has been added to the Russell 2000 and Russell Microcap Indexes, following Russell Investments' annual reconstitution. Russell indexes are widely used by investment managers and institutional investors for index funds. Nearly $4 trillion in assets are currently benchmarked to them.
"We are pleased with our inclusion in the Russell Indexes, which we expect will enhance our visibility in the investment community and expand our investor base," Christopher A. Twomey, Arctic Cat chairman and chief executive officer, said.
Annual reconstitution of Russell indexes captures the 4,000 largest U.S. stocks, ranking them by total market capitalization to create the Russell 3000 index. The largest 1,000 companies in the rankings comprise the Russell 1000, while the remaining 2,000 companies become the widely used Russell 2000. The microcap Index measure performance of the microcap segment and includes the smallest 1,000 companies in the Russell 2000 index, plus the next 1,000 companies.
