Snowmobilers Preserving Our Recreational Trails - S.P.O.R.T. Program 2010

News

In 1998, the Iowa State Snowmobile Association designed and started the S.P.O.R.T. program. Each year at the International Snowmobile Congress (ISC) delegates from Iowa and other snow states sell S.P.O.R.T. pins and annual renewal bars. These pins and bars are available in gold, silver or bronze levels.

All profits from this program are given to the American Council of Snowmobile Associations (ACSA) for their use in a legal defense fund to fight land and trail closures nationwide. This year marks the 13th anniversary of S.P.O.R.T.

Many have been past supporters of this great program, some since the program's inception. Without that continued support ISSA would not have been able to donate thousands of dollars to ASCA. These dollars have helped fund the fight in Yellowstone National Park, Voyageurs National Park and others.

In the past, at each annual ISC, several Iowa delegates spent nearly all of their time selling the pins and bars. They are now in the 4th year of moving this program to a mail order and/or online base. The biggest change in the program will be that you will receive your pins via mail instead of at the ISC.

If you desire to order online you may do so by going to the ISSA website iowasnowmobiler.com and clicking on the S.P.O.R.T. key. For those of you who forgot to order your pins or bars, the group will have a supply at the ISC and of course will take care of your needs there as they have in the past.
