The North Park Snow Snakes Annual Snowmobile Poker Run will be held Jan. 24, starting at 10 a.m. from the State Forest State Park Maintenance Shop in Gould, CO and will run over a 40- to 60-mile groomed course through forests, open glades and steep hills in the scenic state park.
The hundred or more participants will make five stops along the course to collect cards toward a poker hand. Each hand costs $5 or $20 for all five hands. Members of the North Park Snow Snakes Snowmobile Club will collect the money to create a prize pot, which will be split at the end of the day between the high hand and the low hand. Merchants in North Park and Fort Collins have donated door prizes.
Pastries and lunch are available from the North Park Future Farmers of America (FFA) at the poker run headquarters at the maintenance shop, located at 2746 Jackson County Road 41 near the KOA Campground in Gould. All participants must have a valid Colorado snowmobile registration.
Colorado State Parks and the North Park Snow Snakes sponsor the event, which runs until about 4 p.m.
