Island Park, ID - Hungry Bear Market and Deli will be a hub of activity during the 5th annual Island Park Wild West WinterFest Jan. 8-10.
The torchlight parade of snowmobiles will once again assemble at the Hungry Bear on Friday, Jan. 8 before meandering across Henry's Lake Flat, warming up at the Island Park Village Resort and returning to the Hungry Bear for a gigantic fireworks display accompanied by music. The parade leaves at 5:30 p.m. but you can arrive early and enjoy a beverage, a pulled pork sandwich and soup while you listen to energizing music cued up by a professional DJ.
Return to the Hungry Bear on Saturday for snocross races for youth and adults. There will be eight classes of snocross, with racers competing for cash prizes and trophies. Registration is at 10 a. m. and the races begin at at 11 a.m., says Hungry Bear owner, Paul Woodie.
"Expect a lot of action and fun," Woodie said. "We have teams signed up from across Idaho. And this year's fireworks on Friday will be the biggest show ever."
Woodie said the Hungry Bear's food tent will be open on Saturday, too.
