The snowmobile manufacturers, in cooperation with the snowmobile community, are again supporting the Safe Riders! You Make Snowmobiling Safe safety campaign.
The campaign features a safety DVD. The 22-minute safety DVD is a great support piece for safety trainers. The safety video also includes a 30-second positive image public service announcement that can be used separately from a safety training program.
Collectively, snowmobile community members have distributed millions of pieces of safe riders snowmobiling safety materials over the last 14 years and there is a push continue to support the effort.
The International Snowmobile Manufacturers Association has an order form available that clubs and interested snowmobilers can use to request safety materials. To obtain a form, contact ISMA (517) 339-7788.
International Snowmobile Safety Week is Jan.10-17, 2010. The campaign action manual, which is an excellent guide on how to hold and sponsor safety week events, is available to download from the ISMA web site at www.snowmobile.org. The posters, print public service announcements, line art drawing of the posters, logos and more can all be downloaded from the website for use in publications.
Also, the week of Feb. 12-22, 2010 is Take a Friend Snowmobiling Week, where you're encouraged to take a friend snowmobiling.
