Put on a wildchild forward post and now my powder hood will not fit. I need a extra 1" or more clearance to close the hood Has any one had this problem and what did they do to mod the podwer hood with out killing it.

My normal hood needed a notch taken out of it so Im guessing yours will need a notch of some sort as well.

how hard is it to install the forward post (other than the hood notch) and does it makes a big difference on handling characteristics?

Forward Post
The forward post takes a little bit of work but it makes such a big difference I wouldn't even think twice about doing it again. if you keep the stock straight post you'll have to move the post to the right about 3/4" to clear the motor mounts and anti freeze line going into the carb (if yours if carbed). and you also have to move where the mount by your drivers is to the side 3/4" as well.
