Have had enough of my '08 D8, going to buy a M8 162. The problem is the local dealer will not take a trade at this time of the season. So, does a person spring order a 2010 or take a left over '09 in the fall. They will take a trade in the fall or on the spring order. I know the 2010's M8 are supposed to get a new seat, skis and some HP. The left over '09 will be less money, but a seat and skis purchase will eat a lot that up. The M8's have run very well around my area for the past two model years. Would a person expect the same from an 2010? What to do?

The 09 M8 is a killer sled and I would not be afraid to buy one next fall. I have one with the slp pipe and I really like it.

Hopefully Cat will have the 000 for six months again like they did for 09. What that allows people to do is commit to buy their sled in spring, finance it in the fall, sell their old sled in the fall/early winter when it is worth the most amount of $$ and is easiest to sell, then pay for their new sled in the spring.

any idea if there is info on the '10 cats anywhere yet? Heard the launch was at the end of Feb, but someone has to have something....

The 09 800 are great runners. My 09 Xfire 800SP has effortless power to do pretty much what ever you want.

Swapping my D8 for M8

Trading for an '09 M8 in the fall is the more likely senairo unless the price on the 2010 is not to bad(Cdn $ remember here). Only concern with the 2010 M8 would be if Cat is increasing HP a little on them. What are they doing to get the HP increase. How much HP are we talking about? Is this just a numbers game and selling pitch between brands? I do not want to consider buying another first year engine like the '08 D8. Made that mistake once and never again.

Get the 09. It is an awesome sled right out of the box and I doubt the 2010's are going to be much different and will probably cost a lot more $$ for basically the same sled.:D
