Voltage Problem?

I have an 07 Dragon 700.While riding yesterday the voltage meter was showing low voltage on the digital display. It would flash, and at idle the digital display would shut off. Upon acceleration the digital display would return and the voltage meter would show normal voltage. Any idea why this is happening? The sled ran fine.
