to port or not to port a track that is the question

I what to know if it is worth doing to a 159" track with 2.5 paddles. I known by doing it it saves weight and will spin fAster because of rotating mas but are there any more pros. and what are the cons ??? what size holes do people drill too

Drilled 7/8" holes in mine. The track lasted me one year to the week and tore. Did not port the new one this time.
