New to the Matryx Khaos 165. I’m trying to get a feel for suspension settings. I think I’ve got the skiis set about right and I can make quick clicker adjustments at this point.

Trying get the skid shocks to where I like them. Sorta seems a little soft to me. How many threads (est) are you guys showing on front track shock? I’m about 220 with all gear on. The sled is pretty planted until I grab a lot of throttle, then it’s mid range and hang on time.

Here are some pics to give an idea of thread count. With gear on, I'm ~220#.
I love the velocity shocks on the skis, not a fan in the skid.
Ended up replacing them with the Fox Burandt series with the rear lock out.
I change the rear shock settings often, depending on snow conditions and terrain.
3 clicks are so much better than 8 and 13, and trying to remember where ur at.

Lockout on A Khaos is great for the steep stuff.

Thank you, that helps.
I can see you have about twice as many threads showing on both compared to what mine are at now.

And I am coming from a sled with re-valved QS3’s and really liked them. I want to give the Velocity’s a shot for this year at least since they are new.

Thats alot more preload than stock. My center shock has about 2 threads showing on both my 21 155 khaos and my 23 165 khaos

Mine(‘22) had about the same from initial setup. Last ride I gave them about 3 turns.

It was a little better from the ride before. There was a little less new snow. It still felt a little too planted and slightly not enough transfer like you’re saying.
I think this weekend I’ll split the difference from where they are now and what Summit posted.

Can you drop your front torque arm into the lower hole in the tunnel?

Do you wheelie everywhere with that much preload on your front track shock?

Nope, I couldn't get enough wheelie.
Rear shock has just enough tension to keep me from bottoming out on the whooped trails.
Front shock, i was about to turn it up to its limits before i decided to just buy new shocks.

I was trying to make the 155 Khaos as easy to ride as the 165 Alpha.

Alpha is still better at ski lift and wheelies.

No not looking to wheelie everywhere. Just want a little more transfer and ability to hop creeks without going balls out, lift the front end over things, etc.

My 154 alpha with elevate was pretty fun when the snow was good

I have the elevate spindles on the Khaos, I think i need to order the longer limit strap from Ice Age.
Im really trying to make this Polaris transfer like Cat and Doo.
Make it easier to hop creeks and logs

One of the things I notice/feel. The series 8 track first spins, then floats and pops up. This is something new to me coming off a 3” cat track. This is could be the difference in feel I am learning.
I’m noticing I carry more speed to keep the front end light. My Previous sled I didn’t have to carry that much speed to keep the heavier cat front end light.

I think the poo track plays into that as well.
There is a lot more spinning than cat tracks. That's also what makes them so forgiving on sidehills.
I have the 3in on the Khaos, still spin a lot.

Try adding a few clicks of lsc on fts and a few less on rts along with the changes in preload. Will help make front end lighter and transfer more, will start to trench more though. That track works well if you spin it up a bit faster than a 3" in my experience as well, bit more aggressive on throttle.
