Opinion on different helix for 09 M8

Anyone know of a helix that works better for the 09 M8 162, elevation 7-10K with slp pipe. I bought a shift assist and thought about installing a 40/36 at the same time but would like some feedback from those who have changed the straight 36 out. Would like a little bit better off the line jump and good backshift. I do a lot of climbing and boondocking. Also if you go to a 40/36 do you have to drop the primary weights at all.

42 or 44/36 still works good, holds the RPM good and still both backshift typically as good as stock 36. Slightly better upshift for racing the buddies from a standing start.:beer;

I might be getting a little off topic here since I have an M7 based 800 big bore and am running it in Alaska at 0 to 3000 feet, but I have a question about the helix I am running. I am currently running a 48/36 progressive with the BDX 10.4" sheave and orange Cat spring. Primary has stock yellow/white ti spring and 75 gr. weights. This helix seems like way to much angle, but alot of stock M7's run a 46/36 progressive helix with the orange and have good luck. I am only pulling 7700 R's in a climb at 3000 feet and am thinking about maybe dropping a gram or two of weight in the primary to see what happens. If that doesn't work maybe go to a 44/40 helix or back to a torsion set-up.
Any suggestions? Thoughts?

Sorry to hijack the thread....

best clutching i've seen on an any m7 w/ an 800 big bore at 3k to 6k:

primary around 73gs w/ AC gold spring
secondary 10.4 conversion w/ orange spring and shift assist w/ a dalton 44/41/37 multi angle w/ rock rollers.

perfect backshift, 50+ mph track speeds and belts that lasted for well over a 1000 miles... back then (in 07) we never ran into a m1000 that could take it in climb, and my m7 non big bore running the same setup and twins could take most of the m1000's we rode with too. A *****in' setup for sure.

Thanks Quick, I will try dropping some weight in the primary to see what happens, but may try to get my hands on that Dalton helix. I don't see it listed on their website but they do have a C 44/41-39 helix, is this the same one? If I recall correctly, that gold primary spring is a little softer in the beginning but has the same finish rate as like the orange/white right?

I ran that 46-36 prog. for a coupla rides in my stock M7, and it's too much helix for me, with the goodwin dark blue, which is almost identical to the cat orange. Wouldn't hold revs climbing, not making good track speed. It really rips on the flats, though... I tried the 42/36 AC helix years ago, and didn't like the shift point...always seemed to change angle aggresively just as I was pointed at a tree... For me, right now, that straight 38 is where it's at. Rode it again friday to 4500', same goodwin dark blue in secondary, AC gold and AC 75g. in primary...7750 climbing, solid, predictable, no drama, great backshift, great track speed.
