need 150-200 r's with 09 m8 slp pipe

I tried my 09 m8 with slp pipe kit at rabbit ear this weekend with my 68 gr cat weights it ran great but i was only getting 7900- 7950 rpm and would like to get to 8100 in a climb can anyone tell me if you can shimm the sec spring on the stock secondary to gain r's or if anybody has other suggestions please let me know . i would like to stay with the 68gr weight though because they work great othewise

If your sled is new with little miles on it I would leave it alone. Once it gets miles on it loosens up and you will gain that many r's easy. If not, go with the spring idea or grind the weights a little.

My 09 M8 162 has the slp pipe and with the 68G weights it needed a stiffer primary spring to hold that rpm and I ride close to 10K. Mine has 400miles on it so it is plenty broke in. Try a stiffer primary spring like the cutler gold/white or slp blue/yellow and that will help hold the rpm. For your info though, some of these sleds pull better at 7950 than 8100 probably because some of the tachs are off by 200rpm.
