Last night during test start I noticed a couple things. Idled pretty high compared to before tear down, if you look at the instrument lights, oil light is on, dims and then comes back in when I blip the throttle along with the high beam indicator.

The oil pumps been removed a long time ago running premix now. She’s jetted for 8000ft and I’m at 4500 at home, riding area runs 5000-9000ft. So should be running rich at home. I mixed Klotz 50:1 (12 oz in 5 gal of fresh 91 octane) I poured in about 2-3 gal of gas into the tank and then added oil then the last of the 5 gal can. Didn’t slosh the tank. Just kept it on the lift. Im thinking the pour of the first gas loaded up the intake like with straight gas. Or, with the oil pump being removed (tank is still there) will the oil indicator always light up?

Headlamp indicator. Other than checking the plug in, I have no idea what can trigger that.

i agree you might just be too lean if its jetted for 8k.
The hood turned out great!
Pull that empty oil tank out and make sure the crankcase plug is tight. some people just leave the pump in, I prefer a plug from SLP so you eliminate the spinning gear.
Make sure your bottom pipe isnt resting on those new belly pan bolts, Nice work!
I always slosh the mix around and run 40:1

Yup. She’s got an SLP plug on her. The reservoir holds the ignition box. Would like te remove the air box and go with the K&N style but not sure if I want to have to mess around with finding a new jetting. Reading the SLP High rpm setup they specifically mention leaving the air box in.

Agreed on the jetting.. found the SLP setup sheet. Remembering why I welcome 40mm Mikuni flat slides and efi. Increase altitude=less air= need to reduce fuel, drop elevation=more air=give more fuel.

Ok this is weird. Check out the outside main jets and there is a #40 Jet but the plugs are not that lean. In sequence the plugs are PTO, Center & Mag. I resynched (Center was most out of sync) and cleaned the carbs one more time and stuck these back in and richened the premix to 40:1 Klotz. well see what that does. Too late to fire it up last night.

To funny, I was looking at the last few pics of the plugs when my wife walked by, saw the middle plug and said "eww, thats not good" Maybe have a look at whatever cylinder that plug is from.

That was the center cylinder. That carb was out of synch and the idle opened up a bit too high, also when I was putting it back together before synching the cable came out and came apart. I put it back together properly. Hopefully that takes care of it. I finished up too late last night to test fire. Going to try after work.

Also finally started looking over the suspension and notice a ski badly toed. Found the tie rod ends were seized. I wound up buying a new pair for $85 on ebay. Don't know if I want to look through anything else until summer other than replace the pull rope, dogs and recoil spring and also find a decent rope guide. Not sure if I'll use flexible brake line or one of and Arctic Cat. I don't have the stock one that mounts to the top of the brake caliper.

Found identical primary spring that was new from SLP for the primary and could not find a new secondary from SLP's Setup recommendation for their Triple exhaust setup. I did manage to find a Polaris Blue that was the second option from SLP but it was also discontinued. Also cleaned up the helix and put new buttons in. Everything else with the clutches seemed solid but I went over the faces with a scouring pad on a cordless drill to clean the clutch faces.

Dalton often has a good supply of hard to find clutch springs

what is all the gritty stuff on the plugs? did you peek up her skirts with a flashlight when you had the pipes out and roll it over to kinda check the pistons out?
260 is way too lean, I would think 330, maybe 320 where you ride it. Plugs should be 9s not 8s, someone was runnin her hot!
I use the drill bit method to synch the idle positions and after its idling right then synch the cables

That’s just crap transferring from other areas of the sled to my gloves to the parts.

Just tested after getting home from work. (Too late to test last night after I got it back together.) Oil light flickers slightly, idle is much better. Start requires a little squeeze of the gas with the choke and then flip the choke off immediately after she fires. Revs higher when she first started and dropped to a nice idle once warm. Throttle response is crisp and smooth. Pull the plugs after about 10 min of running and they are clearly getting darker. Take it from home at 4500ft to riding area 6000+ and I think she'll be fine.

If those are the same plugs it cleaned up fine, thought I saw aluminum on the center one. Polaris blue secondary springs are discontinued?, they used to be in everything.
edit Try a polaris almond in the primary
