friend blew his up when we were out in the black hills after a long straight away, it was an 07 luckily with a 3 year warranty and cat covered it. The main bearing went out of it.

Mine's an 07. Crank bearing went bad around 600 miles. Smoked the pto side piston yesterday. Not sure about milage, but would guess around at least 2500. Shiz(with a z) happens.

only 750 miles, no problems with engine. Running a CPC head& intake, SLP pipe and Boondocker box.
Hasn't blown a belt either. Just changed the orig belt for the he!! of it last week. Trying a 046 in lieu of the 060 that was on it. Runs the same, no rpms change of seat of the pants feel.

Connecting rod bearing failure on the mag side after 2300 miles with mods. Lots of 1000's in our area with no engine problems. Most of them running stock set-up.

1 07 m1000 way modded,
1 08 m1000 light mod
1 09 cf1000 in between 08 & 09.

I jump the piss out of my sleds, it's about all I'm good at so my sleds take a LOT of abuse.

total of appx 8,500 miles, no problems that weren't self inflicted (top end, dumbass bd box numbers type issues)

oh, oh, mine goes through hifax way quicker than it should (might have to do with no scratchers or wheels?)

I have an '07 M1000/162, bought new in March of '08. No mods. I ride in Colorado 5 or 6 outings a season. Have had no problems other than the ignition would cut out at idle twice when the mileage was under 100 miles. It's had the one ecu reflash and I just got a notice about another one. I've had no ignition problems since the first reflash. Seems that Cat is replacing the ECUs on the M8s but just a reflash on the M1000s. My dealer warned me about the cable melting issues when I picked it up so I wrapped all of the cables and wiring near the pipe with aerospace insulating tape with a HVAC sticky-foil overwrap. Looks funky but nothing has melted. I think that I'm going to get the Cat OEM insulation on this new recall according to the letter from Cat. I'm upgrading to the Float rear shock later this spring.
