Just put wiseco pistons in my Indy and was wondering how to properly warm it up? I read that you should warm it up then shut it off and wait a few minutes (so that the whole engine is closer to the same temp then) then start it back up. And also read just to warm it up 5-8 min and take it easy. Thanks.

Are you talking about when first starting it after assembly or each time you ride?

On a sled that I rebuild I heat soak it 3-4 times after the rebuild. Just start it and let it idle until the tunnel coolers are warm, making sure the water is circulating.

For riding, if you have a gauge, I let it heat up to around 120 degrees. If no gauge, like on an older Edge or the likes, I let it warm up till the tunnel coolers are warm.

Then off and ride.

K, as I said, I let mine warm up to 120'ish... that is where the thermostat opens so you will feel the coolers warm up too.
