Air bubble in line? Oil pump not working. I believe the oil and water pump are on the same gear drive. The oil pump is pretty simple with little to go bad. Did he roll it over with less than than a qt in the tank? That could have caused a air bubble.
I've had an oil pump go bad and take out my crank. I ended up just getting a block off plate, drilling a hole in the case and have been running premix for the past 6 years.
If he has a problem with the fuel pump than it will not fire? Yes the fuel pumps on that model will fail. Also there are valves in the tank that pick up the fuel. They have springs that collapse where they will not maintain suction from the pump. You can take them apart and work the spring where they will work again. To tell if you got a bad pump he can use a 9volt battery to work the pump. A bad pump with just Hmm. Just remove the gas line on the fuel rail to see if you got gas.
