Thinking about putting D and D's twin pipes on my 09 M1000. Has anyone done it? I am concerned about the under hood heat and wiring harness. I have arlready put a clutch side vent kit on and will also vent the exhaust side. Any thoughts out there would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I cant say about the twin pipes but I have the D&D single pipe system and although the power is good the tech help and instruction I got from D&D itself was pathetic! I've heard jaws makes a nice twin setup and I know Lindermann uses them so if he uses em I would bet theyre worth a try.

i have seen only two twin pipe 1000s....one was a jaws, not sure about the other, but it was not a jaws....both had problems with heat melting the hood because of clearance problems....both had a significant amount of add-on heat tape in an attempt to rectify the problems....the jaws ran pretty good, but wasn't especially better than a well set up single.....the other sled, well let's just say he hadn't gotten it dialed in yet....

I Have them on my 07 M1000. It took some time tune them but over all I like them. You have to do some clutching to get your rpms up to 7800-7900. I used heat tape every where. My power valve cables melted First run. Since that I added tons of venting and more heat tape. I have everything working now and am very happy with them.

SB,,,What weights are you running,,also how close are you running your BD box numbers to what D&D recomend? I am running a 07' also with D&D twins, been fine tuning since I put them on. Also running a fire breather intake and the power valve delete(burnt cable also on first run, tried fireplace rope insulation on them, melted again). Tried the numbers from D&D but they seem way rich according to my egt's. My ecu was updated once(bad mistake) and my motor was changed on a cat program, another mistake because that first motor and ecu was real strong. What elevation are you running?

Thanks
Ajay.

Thanks for the heads up fellas. Thinking about trying d and d's ported cylinders and high altitude heads. According to their dyno I should be able to pick up some pretty significant hp. Let me know if anyone has any thoughts. Thanks.

Hey Ajay here are some BD#s

lo med hi
3000 -1 -2 0
5000 -3 -2 0
6500 -2 -2 -2
7200 3 5 10
7500 5 8 23
7800 6 19 37

When I taked to boondocker they said you really dont need to add fuel to the hi range in the low rpms because you never reach a hi load. The same for the high rpms you dont need a lot of fuel on the lo because at those high rpms you never in the lo.

I had problems with melting cables. I tried some header wrap from Napa and it seems to be working. I'll post my bd #'s also. My A/F #'s seem to be close to perfect but I still have a bog after a full thottle pull, I think I'm a little rich up top.

Here are my BD#s. After reading this thread I pulled a little fuel away from my low to mid in the 7200 and 7800 range. It cleaned up the rich bog I had up top. I checked my piston wash after and all was good.

3000 4 -2 -1
5000 1 1 -1
6200 -3 -2 -4
6500 -4 -4 -4
6850 -4 -4 -5
7250 5 8 12
7800 23 27 34

BD # with Twins

Well I finally got to get this in,
3000 - 01 05 04
5100 - 01 01 02
6400 - 03 01 03
6500 - 03 04 04
6850 - 05 06 06
7250 - 03 03 03
7850 - 25 25 25

I will be taking way some fuel throughout the range as it is running rich all around and fuel mileage sucks.

Ajay.
