i am going to install and tune a complete standalone ecu(vi-tech) marine grade on my 700 cfi in 3 weeks and tune it on an engine dyno for max results.we will build 3d maps that we will sell to any person with a turbo kit installed on polaris 700-800 cfi and m8-m1000. it will be a complete plug and play(no special harness needed)since we will update the ecu harness to specific connectors for your sled.

i would like to know if there is enough interest on the 2 strokes market so we can manage to have a decent price at the end. i can get a pretty fair price on 20 and more standalone ecu.

remember, we will completely test 700-800 cfi and 800-1000 artic cat.

my tuner is http://www.chagautosport.com/en/index.htm

sebastien is a certified indy irl fuel injection specialist and he has tons of experience with 2 strokes sled............recently tuned a mx-z 1000 with a standalone ecu only no adds on and manage to pull 227 hp(at the crank)......skidoo base seal kept popping out of place!!

please email me or pm if interested in such an option to your sled......i'm sick and tired of those fuel box (piggyback) and a/f ratio gauges going crazy. we all put big money in our turbo kit and we all go cheap on the most important part wich is ecu......ok it won't be cheap but so efficient......no elevation problem,no timming problem ect...once maps are done it is a turn key and go setup.

thanks for your input :)

Ye,this is the way to go.The piggybacks are not working good enough for turbo use.I have a Lotus I have tuned to 500bhp.And after putting a standalone ECU (Autronic SM4) on it,I got the full power potensial and got the headgasked to last much better. Was able to tune the hole range of the engine with timing and AF so this engine is now almost 100% reliable. It have realy saved me a lot of work. The headgasked was blowing regulary before because of to hige timing compare to boost.

On a turbo sled this will solve all the problem you mention and get a engine that will last much longer. No need to constant watch the AF meter longer.

I`m interested in this to my M1000 turbo prodsject.
Is it with antilag/turbo spoolup function?

i think it could work wonders in a 2 stoke
what brand of standalone you going to use? will be a big factor
the comparision between a piggyback and a standalone is uncomparible except for the price, im assuming a price of around 1500 for a plug and play system for a sled.
my turbo is300 is getting a vipec v88 standalone and shes around 3gs installed.
i like that fact that that we wont have to monitor as much, but what happens if the standalone starts to screws up loses a map, sensor goes down and unable to get the sled back running, happens alot to people in a vehicle with any type of standalone from motec, hks, haltech, tek3 and also there is now snow/moisture , are we going to have to keep a laptop on hand to tune it, keep extra sensors??? are you building waterproof housing for the standalone so it doesnt fry from moisture/snow damage?
also the size of alot of standalones are huge where are you going to mount it?

I don't understand why a standalone ECU would be better then a fuel box? Why and how would you get more HP and why would you have to monitor things less.

If anybody has the time to explain that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

When you use a fuel box like pure logic, attitude you have to deal with all of the weaknesses of the factory ECU. You are adding to it's capabilities but you an only go so far and you only have so much to work with. With a complete stand alone you can design for the application such as boost rather than just adding a programmer to add to the existing ECU which was not made for boost.
If they make one like the impulse with closed loop fuel, temp, iat etc I will buy 2 asap but if it is just a stand alone I am likely not a buyer
