You sure don't see those kind of miles on these new $12,500 sleds.:face-icon-small-dis

And before someone says it, yeah the 97 may not handle as well but when you haul these things 1,100 miles to ride and are lucky to get to go once a year, reliability is top priority. Afterall, a lead sled is better than a dead sled.

Think I'll be sticking with the old iron until Poo quits making doo..

Had a '98 700 xcsp, 13,500 and had original crank. Blew 3 piston running a bit too lean when installed twin pipes, got it figured out n was better than stock. '04 Pro-X2 700 ran 9k before I changed crank and pistons. Sold it at 11k miles n was still running great.

I got a 1990 Indy 500 that is also still going strong. It has about 7k on it. Just as the 700 twin from your '97, the 488 liquid motor is bulletproof. Post some pics if you got any.

I have '97 xc 600 tripple with just over 10k on it then i burnt a piston down and its been sitting ever since. Got 6500 on my '02 800 no engine problems on it yet and it keeps up with an e-tech 800 doo :)
