2008 Dragon 800

Ive been riding Polaris sleds for a long time. My last sled was a 2002 800 Rmk 156 inch track. I road it until 2005. Ran like a champ. Took a few years off and my wife gave me permission to go buy a newer used one. I consider myself pretty loyal to Polaris. So I decided on a 08 800 dragon. I'm the second owner. I was told it had all the updates, so I figured i would be fine. I was told by a buddy don't buy it, the 08 and 10 had top end and map issues. Well I bought it anyways. First ride and maybe a mile from the truck and the check engine light comes on and it starts to bog. So I turn it off and start it back up and it runs fine almost the whole day, but did it maybe 5 other times. Just how I want to start the winter. I wish I would of done my research instead of being loyal. To be honest, this sucks! Do the new 2012 have any problems?

i have a problem like that on my dragon 800 09, the red light is comme from the knock sensor due to poor quality of gas or gas filter jam you need to replace every year and put injector cleaner run with 91 octane gas. try this first , for me it's the high injector dirty and to resolve the problem i removed and clean by specialist and after that no red light.

Thanks fatboy, I will give it a try. I also did some research and found out about the PMS kit too. Seems to be working really good for a lot of people.
