2005 IQ 440/600/800 convertion.

I want to put either a 600 OR 800 motor in my sled. Which motors would fit? What do i have to change on my sled if i drop another motor into like can i use the same clutches or do i have to get differant ones and small stuff i would have to change. Does anyone have a motor that would fit that they would sell me or trade for my 440 motor with trail heads.

depends on what you say when what fits...anything fits!!!! 600HO is a simple bolt on and then comes the fun stuff..clutching, gearing, pipe, can, oil injection, reverse..etc. etc.. jspowersports.com has a great site with everything you would need. Wish they would have had it 3 years ago when i was buidling my IQR 136 660!!! Get your checkbook ready if you do this conversion!

440 vs 600

i have a 05 iq mod with a stock 600ves and a 05 stock iq440 with race heads. the 440 has as much power as the 600. i would say dont waist your money putting in a 600. i ride my 440 over the 600 any day. only dif is the race gas cost more. if you really want to spend money and build a sled go with an 800. i wish i would have.

That being said. The 02 600 VES I had in mine was a lot quicker than my buddies 440. You must have your 600 set up poorly for it to compare with the 440.

i have a 2001 polaris 600 with the slp 660 kit put put into it last december. Very nice set up, and i have the pipe and can that will fit the o5 iq chassis. I can let it all go for 3,100.00. We decided to go back racing this year instead of riding out west. Motor will be complete all you will have to do is hook it up and fab a couple brackets for the pipe to protect the plastics.
