Does anyone that know the weight of these engines? I was wondering for the best power to weight ratio as they are stock. I would assume that the 1000 would have the most potential, And the 800 would follow second if both were bored to there max? As for the 900/700 they were the mainstay for many yrs, But is there a weight advantage over the lay down vs. upright design besides ctr. of gravity? I would assume the newer design has a better porting layout over the upright?

Thanks
Mike

The biggest bore on 700 or 600 laydown is 800cc but with different cylinders cpc has a 1000cc The biggest bored out cylinder on the M8 is 975cc using stock m1000 pistons and they do this to the old upright 800, 900 as well. I understand that the m8, m7 ,m6 800 and 900 have almost the same crank so I bet the wieghts are close.
