Hawaii for now :(
I've got my eye on an 06 RMK 700 144 stretched out to 151x2. I'm not sure on the mods, but I'm pretty sure it's got the normal mods like pipe, vents, etc. It's got 2300 miles on it. Well taken care of but not babied. He goes out to West Yellowstone every year with it. I will be putting the 144 back on to it more than likely since 151 is plenty long for MN lake and trail riding. Are these good sleds? I know the motor was only made for 1 year. Are they that bad? What would be a fair price? He's asking $4500 obo which is too much IMO.

WAAY too much money for that sled!!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't give more than $3000 for that to tell the truth, if you think about it, it's got a bad rep and is 4 years old this season.

depends on his maintenance history...

my wife has this sled (06 rmk 700) and she loves it..i think its a great sled and has excellent potential, just depends on whats done to it now, and how he maintained it..

i bought her sled in july 08 for $3700...so i wouldnt give more then $3000-3500...IMO..

take some time and read these threads...so you know what your getting into..but like i said..i love her sled, and so does she..

If I can sell my sled for about $3000, I might offer him $3000 for it. I don't ride a ton of miles every year (500 or so). But I am living in Hawaii for another year and a half, so I might just sell my sled and hold off for another year and get a 07+ sled.

honestly if you want to get the most out of your sled, part it out. It's a little more work but it's worth it.

I parted out my 05 700 XCSP which was frankensteined into a mountain sled, a good one at that but still gives people apprehention. I ended up with over $4800 out of the parts after fees and shipping. Plus I still have the bulkhead, tunnel, belly pan, chaincase, and a few other misc parts.

I agree with everyone else, $4500 is way too much for that sled. I wouldn't pay more than $3000 either. IMO if you're looking at an 06 700, you should consider a 900 RMK. I've owned a 900 for two years with no major problems. I've spent several hours on a friend's 06 700, and in my opinion its just a 900 with less power. They seem to go for the same price so its worth looking around for a 9. I love this sled and I'm going to keep riding it for at least another 2 years. If you really want a 700, look around for an '07 700 Dragon, they're bullet proof motors and a little lighter. I've seen 07 D7s going for around $5000 here in MN. Happy hunting!
