Rabbit Ears Rental

I have family heading in and looking to rent some sleds. I haven't had to rent here and heard there are rentals across the highway from the parking lot at the ears. We will stay in Steamboat and this sounded ideal since we wouldn't have to trailer (limited spaces on our trailers) rentals around. Anyone with any info. - need insurance, bad experiences, trailer included, old threads, etc.. would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Call Stan at Rocky Mountain Rentals, he delivers the sleds to you. 877-527-9673. The people across the road at RE I believe are a tour company, they don't rent unless you ride with them.

Yes, they rent but they are just trail sleds. You can't ride them without a guide and then you just get to ride in circles in the meadows.

Isn't that what CO snowmobiling is all about!!:D Thanks guys, sounds like you saved me/us from a day of boredom. I will give Rocky mountain rentals a call. Any other suggestions if they don't work out? Thanks again

Extreme Rentals in Lakewood has M6s/M8s for 170/190 per day, delivery/pickup available within 150mi. Google says 151mi from lakewood to steamboat...

I Would Not Use The Place In Lakewood They Are Scum Bags They Do Not Maintain There Sleds And They Tell You If You Have Any Problems They Will Take Care Of It And Then When You Have Problem They Tell You To Bad Ride It Or Drive It Back To Lakewood Whick Sucks Where Your Three Hours In Steamboat Look For Rentals In Steamboat Nicer Poeple And Sleds

It sounds like I need to sell mine and start a forum on rented trail sled mods, and how to ditch a guide. Thanks again guys for all the info.

Please, for the sake of mankind, go back to school and pay attention this time.

I did sell my wife's sled last year--she was not happy about the deal BUT I used the $$$ for home improvements which she liked--so now we rent a sled for her. Had a great family ride in GL--cost me $122 (Monday rate) for a REV600 which she really enjoyed.

Net results: One less sled to haul/maintain/store, ride and release, and more funds available to invest.:)

This sport is becoming too freaking expensive---$652 for a new primary clutch which included the secondary tear down and cleaning:(
