9-11M or 12 Pc

My grandson is starting to ride and my Pro just wouldn't go more than a mile on the trail without overheating. So I sold it and was planning on buying a 9-11M so I can cruise the trails with him and still play with my buds off trail. Been searching craigslist and am finding a few 12 M8's That are right in my price range. Really haven't kept up with the 12 and up M's since I sold my 07 M8 when I bought the first year Pro. Have heard the horror stories of the 12 M's and was wondering which sled you guys think is the better for what I'm looking to do.

If I were in you shoes I would go M series or hold out for a 14 or newer. I bought a new 16 and still not sure that it is the right decision. The 07M is still in the trailer though.:face-icon-small-hap

If my life depended on a sled, the M would get the nod. Not even a second thought.

My 09M went over 3,000 miles without the snow flap and 4,000 miles with very little use of scratchers. Overheating is not an issue. Very durable and dependable, can be found for 4g and under.
12 pc is ... eh at best. Well, it will ride down the trail a lot better than the best Mseries.

I think you guys are crazy! As long as the 12 has the updates, they are way ahead of the m chassis. You can always upgrade that chassis to be just like the 16' for pretty reasonable if needed.

You can take the vin and have your local dealer check if the updates have been done.

The 12 is way better for trails. That is what he wants it for. The M is a great sled but they sucked on the trails. The 12 has the full length cooler also and they had no heating issues. As long as it has the updates and the clutches are aligned you should be good to go.

The 12 has so much snowest bad publicity that is all BS. Yes it had a few problems but not nearly what snowest would make you believe. There is no question it is still a far superior sled in every aspect after you get a few updates done that I'm sure it had done years ago. If you are spending any amount of time on a trail it really becomes so much more of a no brainier. The suspension is only about a bajillion times better on the PC than the M. After only half a day on my 2012 I never ever wanted to ride an M again. Yes the 2014 is that much better but can you ride and love the 2012 absolutely.

To buy a CLEAN low mile 1000-2000 mile M what I've been able to find is $4,500-$5k and I've been looking pretty much on the whole west coast. There are a few PC's I've found with less than 1,000 miles That I could probably get for $5,500. I'll mainly be using it for off trail, I love to ride in the roadless area's, but will need to use it a few times a year to ride on the trail with my grandson.

I never had any issues with my '12 that I rode for three seasons, before I upgraded to my '14. For the most part on the internet you only hear complaints and never praise. I loved my M Series; but the PC is a far better sled.

Pro climb for sure if you can swing that, handles 10 times better than M and I owned every year M sled, if you want a M, get the newest one you can with HO motor, a 10 or 11 would be best

every once in a while I jump on someones good running M sled, I quickly remember what a boat it was, PC is not perfect but it flat out runs an M

I 100% agree. I have a 07 M8 and a 10 M8 my two kids ride. I would take a 12' PC any day over either one of those M sleds, or any M sled.

I still miss my 09 when it comes to stop and go on steep side hills. My proclimb doesn't come close to my 09 M.

12 is a way better way to go. After going to the 12 you will not want to ride the M again. It is like riding a brick. Check for the updates on the 12 and ride the heck out of it.

Isn't it funny how you always start out with an idea of what you want and what your going to spend and then you look around think for just a little more I can get this? Seems to happen to me everytime:) Well right now I'm leaning towards the 12, I'm an orange guy and really like the looks of that orange/black snow pro. Am going to look at one in the middle of the week. Now 162 or 153? Guess that will depend on which I can get the best deal on. The snow here lately has sucked so the last 3 sleds I've bought have been in the 150's, but we are getting POUNDED here right now with snow. Track speed vs flotation. Got more already this year than probably the last 2 combined. My last M was a 162. On another note does anyone have any idea what the dry weight of the 12 is?

If the 12 can is the same as the 14, they're about 20lbs.
Titanium can net u 17lb
The 14 is almost 20lb lighter than the 12s and they r ~465
