2013 Silber Pro Kit Wireing Problems

Hi guys,

This is just a FYI,

I learned of a problem with the 2013 Silber Pro RMK kits that I though some of you might be interested in knowing about. I did not see any other posts talking about the issue so thought someone may chime in and help out with info. I was helping a buddy out and learned of the possible issue.

I dont have all the specific details but here is what I know.

Some of the kits had a wiring harness wiring error causing the boost sensor not to send a signal to the controller so the secondary injectors do not kick-in under boost. I understand you can tell the injectors are not working because under boost the "blue" light will not come on???

I don't have the specific details of the pin-outs but it is the connector that attaches to the airbox sensor (the one that is pre-installed in the kit airbox).

2 of the wires are switched around in some cases.

I don't have a picture to share but I am sure somoene can help out with the pinouts or a pictrue from a good running sled.

The buddy I was helping could not get the sled to run with the supplied tuning numbers so we had to max out the Red to keep it from detonating under boost.

I guess we were very lucky not to have broke the pistions because of the detonation issue - however we did have spark plugs unscrew and one of them broke the porcelain top!.

Hope this helps someone.

Pin 1 - Black (Ground)
Pin 2 - Empty
Pin 3 - 5V Power
Pin 4 - Signal Wire

Here is a picture for you. All this information can be found online.

Ya think maybe they should call us an tell us about these problems. We wasted three trips and blew 2 sleds up. Took them bOth off and will never run a Silber again. Made lots of calls and didn't get know where.....

This only affect a small number of controllers. I know of only one and heard of a few others. If this is a problem they won't hardly run.

We installed a kit on a 2013 Pro and the sled would run but detonated all the time using the recomended settings. However, we added octane and spent a buch of time tuning and was able to make the sled run resonably well without the secondary injectors. Once we fixed the harness the secondary injectors began to work and the sled ran great using the Silber recomended settings.

we couldnt get one off the trailer and one ran exactly you you said. The numbers they wanted would not work @all. we had to put way diff. numbers in and it ran ok, not much better than stock but it det. all the time. 3 of the 4 kits we got were that way. havent opened up the 4th one. still in the box

Who did the installs on the kits?

a polaris dealer. So now ya got to inspect the wiring during instalation. If I was aware of the prob. it would have ben a easy fix

whats that got to do with a factory wiring harness thats pin'd wrong. (Dont think thats in the instructions) The new bully dog controller looks like a sweet set up. I'd love to try that one. Just get frusterated when ya gota drive 700 miles one way to test a sled and cant ride...

Sled kits Scubba is referring to were installed exactly per the instructions. Even stopped on top of the mountain and called Justin to help fix the problems and was told to put the numbers back to his suggestion. Sad that he couldn't just tell us that this could have been the problem. He would have 3 satisfied customers.

So your dealer released 3 sleds after charging x amount of cash and all 3 did not work. If it is a pinout problem it should be vary evident that the fuel controllers are not working, you would see this just spinning the track on a stand burping the throttle. For a good installer this would be easily diagnosed. I would be pissed at your installer!

man you are a D bag.. ok so then we went and met corey @ boston racing. great guy we didnt buy our kits from him but he answers every time and works on em. he knows his $hit but not as much as boyko he tried dialing them in. got a little better but not much better than stock and kept detenating. so we went back home and tore them down. the nikasil came off the jugs on 1 and the other lost alot of compression so we put rings in( got compression back) and took turbo off, and now it runs great. maybe alittle lean ya think. I dont know all the answers thats why im asking boyko.(since he knows them all) corey your a great man for this sport and I'll do business with ya in the future. the bullydog system looks awsome

The 3 kits i rode did not have the wires crossed. I also don't think your installer had done anything wrong. I think your problems were tuning related. By that I mean when you went from the ears to the Snowies the sled had to be re adjusted. The 13 controller needed more attention than the 12 kits and that is part of the reason we looked for other tuning options for the 14's I wish I would have ridden with you at the Ears instead of working on the Power Commander. I feel like I left you not feeling 100% confident with the controller and how to stop the DET issues.

I would love for you guys to come out and ride the new setup and if you like it I will make you a hell of a deal.

Yer funny, I get call a D bag a lot for some reason. So you come onto this thread that is titled “2013 Silber Pro Kit Wiring Problem” Bashing away, with sleds that don’t run and the above post. It sounded like you had the wiring issue. So now it sounds like your saying you it leaned it out and fried up some parts? I’m sorry because that part really sucks. I Don’t know sh!t about turbos compared to a lot of the guys on this forum but what I do is research subjects that I am interested with. Do you think if you would have done the same your sled wouldn't have toasted?

Peace :hippie:

but still confused on why the numbers justin says will work in fuel box for out west would not work what so ever. you would have to burp the throttle several times to make it move and it hit det. alot.... he said it would run maybe not be dialed in but would run fine.... also 2 of our kits were wired wrong. one was a on a 12 justin sent new harness to us and the other i sold to butcher and he figured it out(new in box) peace out its harley season now anyway
