Pump Gas Turbo Question

Was talking to D&D today asking about availability on a boondocker pump gas turbo kit for my 2010 M8. He said he has the 09 kits in stock but the new kits with the electronic wastegate would not be in till atleast november. And they are about $500.00 more. Can sombody tell me what the electronic wastegate is all about and is it worth the wait and money? Is the electronic wastegate necessary or will the 09 kit do the trick. Any info would be great. Thanks

This is in short detail as there are many details I am leaving out so if you need PM me and I can help you out but this should give you an idea.

Also kits will be ready to go way before Nov as far as price this is not the swap so again PM me but my BD kits I send out come with the new electronic boost controller and everything that is need so it's a complete kit.

Also new for this season is a Electronic Waste gate system.

1. "Auto boost adjust" This will allow you to set your boost at say your correct pump gas level and as you go up and down the moutain it will lower and raise your boost all wile keeping you in your same octane requiremts. So as you go up it will keep you at the same HP level or very close to it this keeps your clutching spot on and you can get the most HP out of your octane of fuel. As you go down the mountain it will also lower your boost so you don't ever have to worry about detonating your motor if you forget to turn down your boost as this is easy to do if you are having fun the powder and have a wide range of altitude.

This also comes with a Altimter built in so you can keep an eye on your elivaton as well.

2. It has a separate LED boost gauge display the boost screen also has max record so you don't have to stare at the gauge as it will record your max boost on a run and you can clear it as many times as you would like.

4. you can set your boost with a push of a button up and down so no more turning the knob and wondering what boost you are now at. You set it at 7.5psi it will be exatly that. Also much faster spool up results have been found as well.

5. You will also have the option to run a "push to pass" button this will be just like nitrous. So as long as you have the octane you can add a set amount of boost you want and it will only add this boost wile you are on the button. So for boondocking you can be at say 8psi for a more controlled powerband but say you need more HP to climb a shoot or in a drag race you can program it in for say 10 or 12psi wile you are on the button. So think of it like nitrous but you never run out.

I hope this helps???

Thanks for all the information. That electronic wastegate sounds like a nice option and the way to go forsere. Help keep things as turn key and user friendly as possible.

so is this electronic waste gate system only going to be on the 2010 turbo's or will it be avaliable for every turbo system?

If this waste gate does every thing your saying it sound like a must have to me. I just hope it not one more electical component that can fail.

I could not get the aem ture boost controller to work on a sled but it sure would be cool , my conclusion was it wanted to much power and my sled didnt have it. but I hope bd can get it to work it sounds way cool.

Hey everyone, if you buy the new electronic boost control with a turbo kit purchase, it is only 300.00. Also the 2010 kits have several new features; such as an improved oiling system, mufflers included with kit. The electronic boost controller draws less than 1 amp, a Boondocker designed and manufactured part. If you have any more let me questions let me know, Thanks Diann

Boondockers will be at Haydays, we will have the electronic boost control and never seen before classified BD projects!!! :D

so is there an upgrade available for last years kit? Muffler? What has been changed on the oil system?

its a serperate peice.... price has not been released yet. still working on the box enclosure and mounting hardware to make it look as good as it works.

Yes the new boost controller will be an upgrade, and is seperate from the BD Box. I will be able to release the details soon, Thanks Diann.

with the new tank you can roll your sled over and the oil wont dump back into the turbo causing it to smoke like a SOB and load the turbo full of oil. i believe its somewhere a long the lines of a one way check valve put in the top of the tank. just wish i would have known about it a little sooner... i just had a my last years tank powder coated.... anybody need a poweder coated tank? Black with Red cap?

J Kinzer is right the tank will be new and you will never have any smoke at all making it unlike any tank on the turbo market also looks even better. Install is even easier now only taking a few min to install the whole oil system. Incorporated into the tank is a oil check system that will let you check your oil with just a glance.

I have done that to my tanks from the start.
